MYSQL connection to VS 2010 (no replies)

i have a problem,
i cannot compile the example from this page: http://blog.ulf-wendel.de/?p=215

i have the error that there is no file "boost/variant.hpp"

what is that and where can i get it?
i saw the boost page, but i have no idea how to install it. im a newby:(

please help me with a detailed description!
